Cadillac has strengthened its leadership structure ahead of its inaugural FIA Formula 1 World Championship campaign with the appointment of Lewis Hamilton's former manager, Marc Hynes as Chief Racing Officer.

The move marks a significant step as the team prepares for its first competitive season at the pinnacle of motorsport.

In his new role, Hynes will oversee Cadillac’s racing operations, ensuring peak performance across all sporting and technical functions. His responsibilities include aligning the driver roster with engineering groups, streamlining internal processes, and fostering collaboration between the technical and sporting departments to build a disciplined, competitive environment.

Hynes will also lead Cadillac’s driver programme, managing race drivers Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Pérez, reserve driver Zhou Guanyu, and test driver Colton Herta. His background as both a professional racing driver and a respected figure in driver development brings a valuable blend of competitive insight and leadership.

Reflecting on his new position, Hynes emphasised the unique opportunity of helping shape a brand‑new Formula 1 organisation from the ground up:

“Building a new team in Formula 1 is a rare challenge, and I’m excited to help shape the culture, processes, and performance standards from the very beginning.

"We have a strong and diverse driver line-up, and my focus will be on creating the clarity, alignment, and discipline needed to allow everyone – drivers and engineers alike – to perform at their very best.”
