Commons:Categories for discussion/2023/01/Category:1970 in Palestine
I'm suggesting this first just to try to avoid drama but there is already a Category:1970 in the State of Palestine which is the category that is in the countries of the Arab world and countries of Asia headers. The 1960s category is split but the 1970s one leans towards the State of Palestine naming convention. Ricky81682 (talk) 00:05, 11 January 2023 (UTC)
- @Ricky81682: Palestine is a geographical region which is (currently) occupied by the political entities Israel and State of Palestine. Thus the split between Palestine and State of Palestine is valid and should be maintained through the various trees:
- Category:1970 in Palestine
- Direct contents limited to those that are common to the region (not specific to a state)
- Category:1970 in Israel for contents specific to that state
- Category:1970 in the State of Palestine for contents specific to that state
- Category:1970 in Palestine
- Of course this should apply to more than just 1970, but you get the point. Josh (talk) 13:30, 2 February 2023 (UTC)
